Fishing Charters
The tropical waters surrounding Bedarra are teeming with a variety of marine life.
Fishing opportunities abound with the options of either island, reef or estuary fishing experiences. Half or full day charters are available with a variety of species targetted including reef, pelagic or sport fish.
A number of experienced fishing guides operate in the local area, all available for private charters departing directly from Bedarra.
The Bedarra chefs provide catering for all fishing charters, and they can also freshly prepare your catch for dinner for you upon your return!
Fishin Mission
Owner Dennis is an experienced skipper and fishing guide with over 10 years experience and local knowledge of the waters and reefs around Bedarra. He is also tenacious, and has many different techniques to tempt the fish you are hunting onto the hook.
His vessel is a 7.5m Sailfish Platinum Series designed and powered to give comfortable and quick travelling to the reef, islands or game fishing grounds. It includes a toilet, state of the art electronic equipment such as colour GPS, fish finder, large kill tanks, live bait tank, stereo, transom door with boarding ladder and many other features to make your time onboard as enjoyable as possible.
You will use the newest Shimano & Penn reef fishing equipment and will have the opportunity to target a wide range of fish species such as Tuna, Red Emperor, Nannygai, Coral Trout and several types of Mackerel and Trevally.
Hooked Up Fishing
Owner/Skipper Alister has been fishing the waters around Mission Beach almost his entire life, and has a unrivaled local knowledge of the area.
Offering the alternatives of either offshore reef fishing, estuary fishing or nearby island fishing, the team will target locations such as reef edges, flats, wrecks and rubble beds to ensure a catch of reef fish, or open water for pelagic species such as Spanish Mackeral.
All equipment is provided and no experience is required, as the crew will show you all the tips needed to get “Hooked Up”.
Charters are undertaken in a 26ft custom Sportfisher, the "Spirit of Dunk". Equipped with the latest electronics, including a dynamic positioning system, the comfortable vessel will ensure you bring home a catch!
Mission Beach Charters
Skipper and guide Jason grew up in the local area and has an excellent knowledge of the waters surrounding Bedarra.
Offering any combination of reef, estuary or island fishing incorporating lure or bait fishing, either half or full day charters are available.
The vessel "Brahminy" is used for all fishing charters and is a 6m Stabicraft offering a full canopy for sun protection and clear curtains to keep you dry in the event of rough weather.
Bait, tackle, rods and reels are supplied, (but bring your own if you prefer), as well as an esky with ice to keep your catch fresh!
